The Living Reservoir selected as Finalist and Golden Mention by TerraViva Competitions

We are pleased to share that our proposal, The Living Reservoir: A Vertical Landscape Where Water Becomes Food, Culture, and Community, has been selected as a finalist and awarded a Golden Mention in TerraViva Competitions’ The Water Tower competition.

The international competition invited designers to reimagine Milanino’s historic water tower as a new cultural and civic destination. Our proposal transforms the disused structure into a vertical hydroponic garden, reworking forgotten water infrastructure into a productive public landmark for food, culture, wine, learning and community life.

Rooted in Milanino’s Garden City legacy, the scheme brings together a series of interconnected spaces including a Harvest Lab, Garden City Café, hydroponic education areas, a wine terrace, suspended vineyard and canopy walk. The project reframes water not simply as something to be stored, but as part of a circular system for growing, gathering, tasting and celebrating.

Through landscape, planting and adaptive reuse, The Living Reservoir explores how historic infrastructure can be reactivated as a living civic asset that supports ecological education, local identity and everyday public life.

We are delighted to have received this recognition and thank TerraViva Competitions for the opportunity.
