Appointed onto East Nutcott, Rackenford Land Restoration

SLD have been commissioned to prepare the Landscape Masterplan, Green Infrastructure Statement and LVIA for a clean inert landfill proposal at East Nutcott in North Devon.
The site consists of low-grade pasture farmland with broken hedgerows, small woodland pockets and a large central area previously excavated. It is located adjacent to a Culm grassland County Wildlife Site, giving the project important ecological context.

Our approach is landscape-led and community-focused: restoring hedgerows and woodland structure, creating new meadow and wetland habitats, integrating SuDS and strengthening the local green infrastructure network. We also aim to work with the local primary school to support interactive habitat creation and long-term nature connection.
The restored landscape will deliver a significant Biodiverse Net Gain and be managed as an ecological haven for the next 30 years.
