BROWNFIELD ESTATE EAST END

Brownfield is one of Poplar Harca's largest estates and close to Crisp Street market, It is a large group of 1950's & 60's buildings with close historic ties to the Docks.  Proposed external works by Poplar Harca were aimed at completely transforming the estate. Landscape proposals were based around the central green square accommodating exciting new play, sports facilities and seating areas. This was to be the catalyst for estate regeneration.  Landscape implementation works were originally funded by SRB grants.  Brownfield estate has now been transformed with new and refurbished homes, a new community centre, pocket parks and innovative award-winning landscaping. The estate was a pilot for a range of innovative hard landscape materials used for the first time which are now widely used elsewhere.
