TESCO HARROW GREENMEAD

Located on the site of an existing Tesco store in Harrow. The regeneration of the site will result in a new Tesco store with 580 residential units split into two phases of work. Two large podium spaces accessible by the residents, and a redesigned ground-level public realm landscape are proposed. The podium spaces are a safe green oasis providing a sense of calm with mature trees and biodiverse shrub planting. Due to the tenure mix, the podium spaces will be used by a wide variety of people, and facilities will include a multi-use games area (MUGA), play items for 1-12-year-olds, gym equipment, community vegetable gardens, secure cycle storage and a number of spaces for relaxation and socialising to promote a vibrant community. The public realm landscape will link the new development with the surrounding area, improve permeability through the space and provide safe spaces and facilities such as pocket parks, play equipment for a range of age groups and a high-quality landscape with mature tree and shrub planting to significantly improve the character and biodiversity net gain of the site.
