Al SAMALIYAH ISLAND ABU DHABI

The scheme was part of an assessment of how to distribute major amounts of earth excavation following preparation of mangrove planting.  Also incorporating a new boat landing area for the island.  Al Samaliah is one of the largest man made mangrove plantations in the world and an Arab Cultural Centre which is ecologically rich. Sculptural forms distributed the surplus ground materials in a artistic way. The ammonite earth form was inspired by local ammonites discovered during the excavation works in the Gulf.
