COURTLANDS FARM

Project was set in Banstead and Reigate area of High Landscape Value and also within the Greenbelt.  The site was an old WW2 bunker currently used for car and caravan storage located on top of a hill a few miles from Banstead.  The proposal was to allocate new housing onto the site demonstrating there was minimal impact to the openness of the Greenbelt.  An LVIA was carried out by SLD and demonstrated the visual zone of influence was minimal and the change of landscape character had little impact on the Greenbelt.  The principle of housing was established using the LVIA but quantum of housing was not agreed at Public Inquiry.
