BURFIELD FARM WINDSOR

The site is located within the Greenbelt along the Thames Corridor just outside of Windsor and in an area of High Landscape Value.  A new large residence which was the old farm had been refused planning permission due to the impact on the Greenbelts 'loss of openness'.  SLD were commissioned on the recommendation of a Barrister to prepare a proof of evidence for public Inquiry to support the scheme.  A full LVIA was carried out and emphasis was on considering how increase of volume in built form had little impact on the Greenbelt within the area.  After liaison and careful consideration of view points in the landscape the principal of development was agreed with the Local Authority.
