The Matchmakers - Hackney Wick

The scheme is located on the old Matchbox Factory site alongside the River Lea, 200 yards from the Olympic park. The proposed landscape incorporated collaboration with local artists. The Wharf is home to 50 artist studios which imbued the development with a creative cultural buzz.  SLD, Stock Woolstencroft and Telford Homes managed a national competition to select the artist for the concierge foyer entrance feature and the vertical Hot-Wheels sculpture in the garden square.  The Hot-Wheels feature was designed to reflect the site’s historic past as headquarters of Matchbox Cars.
