Sculpture, Art benches Finger Games – Stig Evans & David Watson
SLD worked closely with both artists to integrate art into the landscape of an acute PICU garden. The artists held a number of workshops where colour rendering and play was the main theme. User groups were encouraged to produce colour render drawings which reflected their emotions during the process.
These drawing were used by the artists to produce a colourful bench using recycled plastic and a number of finger games set within the external walls of the garden. The art work produced during the workshop was mounted and displayed throughout the hospital. The artists were selected for the project after a national competition run by the trust. The hospital won ‘Best External Space’ at the Building Better Health Care Awards.
